Slip-Busters Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 12, 2026
1. Who We Are
ACT Inc. doing business as Slip-Busters ("Slip-Busters," "we," "us," or "our") is a California-licensed general contractor that installs grab bars, bathroom safety conversions, and other durable medical equipment (DME) in customers' homes.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and in the course of our business, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to visitors to our website, people who contact us directly to request our services, and veterans referred to us through a VA hospital's program.
2. Information We Collect
-
Information you provide to us directly. When you submit our website's contact/quote form, call, or email us, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, home or service address, and details about the work you're requesting.
-
Information we receive from a VA hospital. For VA-referred installations, the VA hospital gives us your name, contact information, service address, and the equipment or service that has been approved, so we can schedule and complete the work. The VA hospital does not share your medical records, diagnosis, or other clinical health information with us.
-
Information collected automatically through our website. Our website is hosted on Wix and uses Wix's own website-operation tools (including its contact-form app). Like most websites, it may use cookies or similar technology for basic site function, security, and traffic measurement including analytics, tracking pixels and other third-party tracking tools.
-
Text messaging information. If you check the box on our contact form agreeing to receive texts, we use the phone number you provide solely to send you the service-related messages described in Section 5 below.
3. How We Use Your Information
-
To schedule, coordinate, and complete your installation or service appointment
-
To communicate with you by phone, email, or text about your project
-
To prepare and send the VA hospital the scheduling status and completion packet for VA-referred work
-
To provide you documentation (such as an estimate or invoice) that you may choose to submit with a HISA grant application
-
To respond to inquiries from people who want to hire us directly
-
To comply with our legal, licensing, tax, and record keeping obligations as a California general contractor
-
To maintain the security and proper functioning of our website
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only as follows:
-
VA hospitals: for VA-referred work, we send the VA hospital scheduling status updates and completion documentation — nothing more.
-
Our employees: the technicians who install your equipment are our direct employees, not subcontractors, and are bound by our internal confidentiality practices.
-
Service providers: companies that host our website, process invoices, and carry our calls and text messages process information on our behalf so we can operate our business. They are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing.
-
Legal and safety reasons: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Slip-Busters, our customers, or others.
5. Text Messaging (SMS) Communications
If you opt in on our website, we may text the phone number you provide to help schedule and coordinate your service appointment, notify you when your technician is on the way, and respond to your inquiries. Consistent with our contact-form disclosure:
-
Messages are limited to appointment scheduling and coordination, technician arrival notices, and responses to your inquiries — we do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
-
Message frequency varies depending on your service needs.
-
Message and data rates may apply.
-
Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
-
Opting in is not required to receive our services.
-
Your phone number and text opt-in status are never shared with any third party for marketing purposes.
6. SMS Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information, including your phone number or SMS consent status, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. The only parties who ever receive this information are the VA hospital (limited to scheduling status and completion documentation for VA-referred work, as described in Section 4) and service providers who need it solely to operate our business and deliver our services to you — including our website host, our invoicing provider, and the telecommunications platform and wireless carriers used to send you text messages. Each is contractually restricted from using your information for their own purposes. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share consumer data, including SMS consent and phone number data, with any other external organization.
Consumer Contact Information
Consumers may contact Slip-Busters directly for any privacy-related questions or requests at (408) 256-3570, office@slip-busters.com, or PO Box 147, San Martin, CA 95046.
7. Safeguards Against Unauthorized Sharing
-
Administrative controls are used to limit handling of consumer data to authorized business purposes only.
-
Technical controls are used to protect consumer data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
-
Access controls are maintained so that only authorized personnel can access consumer data, including SMS consent and phone number data.
8. VA Patient Information and HIPAA
The VA hospital does not share your medical records, diagnosis, or other clinical health details with us. What we do receive — your name, phone number, and address — is nonetheless confidential because it identifies you as a patient of the VA hospital. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect this information, consistent with applicable healthcare privacy standards (HIPAA), and we use or disclose it only as necessary to schedule, perform, and document the VA-approved work.
9. Your California Privacy Rights
Depending on the volume and nature of personal information a business handles, California's Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, may give California residents certain rights, including the right to:
-
Know what personal information we have collected about you and how it has been used and shared
-
Request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions
-
Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you
-
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of
-
Limit the use of sensitive personal information
-
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 16.
10. Data Retention
We retain customer, project, and financial records for as long as needed to complete your project and to satisfy our legal, tax, licensing, and insurance obligations as a California contractor.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children's Privacy
Our services and website are directed to adults and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Third-Party Links
Our website or communications may reference third-party resources (for example, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites we do not operate.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" above reflects the date of the most recent revision. We will post any changes on this page.

This Privacy Policy describes our current data practices in good faith and is provided for informational purposes.
